My Inspiration
I enjoy walking in my spare time and many of my artwork pieces are directly influenced by these hikes into natural environments. I love recreating plants and wildlife in my work. Having four cats I love to use them as models, and I have plenty of opportunities to do so.

From a very early age I liked nothing more than drawing and painting and exploring the natural world. Born in Holland, close to the sea and countryside I had plenty of opportunity to explore. I moved to South Africa with my family when I was twelve years old. There I went to Art College and worked in various art media. Later, I moved to E
From a very early age I liked nothing more than drawing and painting and exploring the natural world. Born in Holland, close to the sea and countryside I had plenty of opportunity to explore. I moved to South Africa with my family when I was twelve years old. There I went to Art College and worked in various art media. Later, I moved to England and worked in advertising and for children's book publishers. I currently work from my loft conversion studio which enjoys inspirational views of the river Swale and the surrounding countryside. I have exhibited pictures at the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery in London and The Mall Gallery in London, The Horse bridge Arts and Community Centre in Whitstable, Lovely's Gallery in Margate and many others.

I use many different media, such as oil, acrylics, gouache and pastels. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests itself in its own individual style and medium.
